MINWARA SPRING 2007 REGIONAL CONFERENCE

The 2007 MINWARA regional conference on sea mine warfare will be held at the Bay Point Marriott Hotel in Panama City FL on May 7-10, 2007. The theme for this conference will be: Mine Warfare in Sea Shield: Heading Out in New Directions. The conference theme is reflective of a number of changes since the previous conference in 2005, such as:

• The aggressive development and upcoming delivery of the Littoral Combat Ship
• Parallel development of MCM mission modules for the Littoral Combat Ship
• Base Realignment and Closure Commission impacts in 2005 and beyond
• Continued experimentation in mine warfare with USS SWIFT (HSV-2)
• Updated theater mine warfare concept of operations
• USN/USCG Maritime Operations Threat Response (MOTR) concept
• Reorganization and alterations to current mine warfare force structure
• Updated environmental knowledge in theaters of potential conflict
• Continuing development of assault breaching systems

These changes provide a robust menu of presentation topics and issues for discussion at the conference. We look forward to seeing many of you there.
