MINWARA Spring 2005 Regional Conference

Mine Warfare in Sea Shield:  Is Access Assured for Expeditionary Strike Forces and the Seabase?

Bay Point Marriott Resort
Panama City, FL

The 2005 MINWARA conference on sea mine warfare will be held at the Bay Point Marriott Hotel in Panama City FL on May 23-26. The theme for the conference will be: Mine Warfare in Sea Shield: Is Access Assured for Expeditionary Strike Forces and the Seabase?

The conference theme is reflective of a number of changes since the previous conference in 2003, such as:

  • Replacement of the MCS with a ship of opportunity (LHA/LHD/LPD)

  • Transformation to the Expeditionary Strike Force construct

  • Increasing definition of the seabasing concept and associated force protection requirements

  • Delivery of USS SWIFT (HSV-2) to the mine warfare force

  • The aggressive development of the Littoral Combat Ship and associated mine warfare mission modules

  • Updated organic MCM performance data and delivery plans

  • Updated environmental knowledge in theaters of potential conflict

  • Potential alterations to current mine warfare force structure

  • Emerging CONOPS for organic MCM, LCS, and future mine warfare

  • Continuing development efforts for assault breaching systems

These changes provide a robust menu of presentation topics and issues for discussion at the conference. The new theme is a natural continuation of previous conference themes on Mainstreaming Mine Warfare.

SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

Corporations and agencies are invited to participate as partners in presenting MINWARA’s Spring 2005 Regional Conference. Historically, this conference has been an excellent opportunity to get to know potential clients and new markets, and an exceptional venue to highlight your services, products and capabilities. As with previous MINWARA conferences and workshops, this conference underscores the need for a much higher level of communication, integration, and shared information between users and producers of systems associated with all aspects of the mine warfare program.

Investment

For a one-time fee of $1,500.00 US paid in advance of May 1, 2005 sponsors will receive:

  1. Prominent listing on the conference web site.

  2. Recognition from the podium.

  3. Exhibit space: one 6-foot dressed table for tabletop exhibit.

  4. One individual registration to the conference including lunches and dinners.

  5. Face-to-face interaction with attendees during all meeting breaks.
